Traveling on a Budget
The summer vacation has been a family standard for generations. Travel prices just keep going up though and it is becoming more difficult for the average family to travel without breaking their budget. If they want to have a good vacation then they will need to keep a few tips in mind when planning their trip.
The first is a little odd. Gas prices are so high that the old road trip plan may not actually be a good plan. You can probably save money by just booking cheap airfare through an online deal finder. Only one very big family in a hybrid could still make the road trip work.
If airfare is still too expensive, then you can opt for the bus. Greyhound offers some great options for very cheap travel, especially if you are willing to book ahead. Booking will be a bit more complicated though. You will have to find a route that you like and plan for the bus possibly running a bit late. If you really want to make it work though, you should plan for layovers in a few good places. You can take the bus to one spot, stay a few days, go to your destination, stay awhile, and then head home. If you want you can even travel on a different route back to see something different and pack 3 or 4 vacations into one trip.
Family vacations can still be affordable if you are willing to make some sacrifices and plan ahead. It may not be perfect but it is sure to provide your whole family with an experience that you will remember.

Making Last Minute Travel Work for You
You may think that last minute travel won’t be nearly of nice as it sounds. You just have to stop and think about how nice it would be to truly get away from it all though. Imagine that you will open an email and find the perfect deal for a 3 day vacation to Orlando at a great price. Wouldn’t it be really great to travel cheaply to your dream location without months of planning?

The way it works is really pretty easy. You just have to signup for a major travel website like Priceline.com. They will send you their last minute travel deals in simple emails that let you know about new opportunities. These can be incredibly cheap packages with deals for airfare and hotels going for a few hundred dollars a person. It only makes sense when you think about it though. An empty seat on an airplane is just lost money and no hotel wants to have empty rooms. They’ll gladly cut you the cheapest deal possible just to scrape out a few extra dollars.
As you can see, if you are able to have a flexible travel schedule, last minute deals may be the perfect option for you to go where you want at a price you can afford. ![]()
