I was on a trip out of state recently. I used my debit card on quite a few purchases while I was shopping. My bank ended up putting my debit card on a security hold. I couldn't make anymore purchases. I tried to call them and their security department was only open Monday-Friday from 9 am - 5 pm. If I wasn't with friends I would have been stuck with no cash and no debit card. Thieves can't see that you have cash in your purse.
